Getting ready for Quest III in Fall 2024.

I am looking forward to meeting class members next week and to introducing them to a topic that few history classes consider: how charity and poor relief worked in the ancient, mediaeval, and early modern worlds. Many people in the United States think that government "welfare" is a new idea, but it most certainly is not. Learning about how poor relief worked in the past can help us make better decisions now, at a time when technology will likely change the world of work forever.
